Regulatory Mapping

Introduction​

Purpose of this document​

This document comprises the Data Technical Standards (DTS) that govern the Reg Mapping solution within the CUBE platform. It extends the existing DTS to include the additional data assets required for Reg Mapping and explains the processes involved in the mapping of regulation to controls.

This DTS contains the following information:

  • Background information and context about regulation and regulators
  • Process for mapping regulation to controls
  • Description of the data entities associated with this process
  • How these data entities fit with the existing CUBE data model
  • For regulatory data entities, an articulation of the data standard including attributes, types, quality statements
  • A glossary of terms

Assumptions​

The following key assumptions apply to the Reg Mapping solution and this DTS

  • CUBE will not be providing any interpretation of the regulatory obligations that are used to map regulation to controls -- obligations will extract the literal text from the regulatory documents
  • CUBE will not be providing the scoping of regulation to individual network member's business models
